I will aggressively reblog any of the following, everything else will probably be queued:

  • Social Justice Commentary
  • Girls with my Body type
  • Things relating to being Bisexual or Biphobia
  • Disney
  • Alice in Wonderland/The Cheshire Cat

LOL….I have an image of you all Xena-like “aggressively reblogging” the shit out of these things :D

Hmmm….so if Kirk and Spock ever “get together” will Kirk be 1/4 Vulcan for a bit as he’s got some 1/2 Vulcan (Spock) in ‘im? ;)
Note: this is said as someone that occasionally has a l’il Irish in me (not as often as I’d like) and has had some of most nationalities at one time or another — ergo humour.

Surprising literally no one, women are a major demographic in gaming that, despite being ignored by the industry, comprise a larger portion of gamers than groups that are already catered to.

Source is the ESA

Ever notice its always “women are overlooked”?? Well i have news! Its not women who are overlooked its women with demands like anita sakisan (i cant spell her name and im a bit lazy. Get over it). Most of the people i play with regularly are women! They play the games everyone doe cod. Battlefeild. Skyrim. Dark souls. They love these games! Just like my male friends ho game. So i say again its not women being ignored. Its the small demigraphic of bitchy feminists who but in to EVERYTHING and demand it be changed to their liking. They ignor you just a they ignore the screams of “fanboys” over how shit the cod servers are! So get over it.

That vague infographic aside, since it doesn’t really explain how data was collected, I would actually be more interested in knowing the console or platform the games are played on by gender. Like what exactly is the gender ratios for smartphone/mobile/social network gaming, vs console/PC/handheld.

One thing I noticed on the infauxgraphic was, “Women 18 or older represent a significantly greater portion….than boys age 17 or younger….”.  Extrapolating from that, we can safely estimate that the population of boys covers no more than 5 years or so (from 12 - 17), while the female population is virtually unlimited.  Does the difference in percentage really seem so astounding now?  What they’ve done is considered a no-no in statistics: comparing two (or more) non-like variables as if they were like variables.

We could as easily replace “video games” with “poetry”, “literature” or any other thing that adults enjoy and get exactly the same result.

Uncanny X-Force 02

This massage is called “best friend massage” because it is a consensual massage, that is done between best friends.

Clearly, I have to start reading the X-comics again ;)

I thought I will analize this post, and try to find at least one point in it which could count as “thin privilege”

Thank you AP!!!!!  Brilliant rebuttal to the shite “info” presented by TITP!!!!

I did notice that you didn’t ask for sources for all the claims of “studies that have proven….”.  I don’t know about you, but I’d be most interested in seeing them — especially those concerning medical professionals as if there is a study indicating that they exercise discrimination (as claimed by TITP) then those professionals should be subject to censure if not legal action.  Iirc, denying care based on discrimination is against the Hypocratic Oath and various protection laws.

To TITP: Do you have any idea of the constant doubt, worry, pain and anguish ~I~ suffered for 30 years because I was perceived as TOO THIN?!?!?  Like many from my generation, I grew up in a family where cleaning your plate was de rigeur and not eating everything when visiting others was considered rude.  Good food (almost always) === lots of love — not eating, or not appearing well-fed (therefore) === not loved.  It wasn’t until my 30’s when my GP deduced that I have an astoundingly high metabolism (given my lack of “exercise”) combined with bones far less dense than the norm, that I began to accept that I am NOT underweight regardless of what I had been told.

THIRTY FUCKIN’ YEARS of believing that I had to gain weight while simultaneously hearing ass-hats like yourself complain about many issues which you (as a community) refuse to accept as medical fact, laws of physics, or the actions of a capatalist, free-market economy.

So no….”thin” ppl do NOT have the privileges that you scream from the mountain tops.  I can come up with counter examples for each and every example of “privilege” that you care to throw into the ring.

Tumblr, teaching more about rape culture than they do in school

*sigh*…in order then:

  1. A typical example of labeling “all the menz” as rapists.  Sorry, if I see someone that looks in need of help on the sidewalk or side of the road, I will continue to offer aid in a respectful manner.

  2. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind the next time a straight woman grabs my crotch or comes at me like a creature from Alien wanting to suck my life out through my mouth because she “luvs the gays and they luvs her” [/sarcasm].

  3. Actually not “creepy” although those words are a sign of being a douche that can’t control his mouth.  However, telling a female person that she looks nice, asking if she’s done something new with her hair, or asking where she got an outfit are perfectly acceptable comments and questions in a world where the recipient knows the difference between a compliment and creeping.

  4. No….”it” doesn’t assume these things.  Feminism — as expressed by the icons of it and RadFems — assumes these things.  It also incorrectly states that women are incapable of rape.

  5. Truth regardless of the sex / gender of either the rapist or victim.

  6. If that is true in all cases then you can throw out the advice littering the pages of many women-centric (marketed to women) magazines: flirting / coquettish behaviour, never be the first to phone the guy, “put a ring on it”, etc..  As “no” in all these cases will end any further contact with the man rather than being interpreted as a sign of possible future interest.

  7. See #5.

  8. How about we tell all our children to behave in a responsible and respectful manner?  Goddess forbid that we raise children that are prepared for adult interaction in the world….nope, better to raise our daughters to perceive themselves as constant victims — while supposedly empowering them — and our sons to “know” that they are “statistically likely” to rape a woman at some point in their life.

Well done RadFems Feminism!!!  Could I ask that you please buy an island somewhere, live by the constraints of your fucked-up version of reality, petition the UN for official recognition and then announce yourselves to the world?  That way, I will know which country not to buy from in the future.

EDIT: I included the 2nd picture as part of my 1st point as they give much the same message.

It’s a perspective that I never really thought of in regards to Voyager.

The writer of the article made some excellent points about what Voyager  did to break barriers and give us Trek fans a new vision of the Federation.

But, I don’t agree at all with his implication (assertion) that previous series’ had a male-centric military focus.  While this is true of DS9 — ongoing strife with the Cardassians and later the Founders — it certainly isn’t true of NG or OS.

I also fail to understand the level of angst expressed, by some, at the ST reboot movies.  They are a) reboots, b) told in an alternate timeline (where Kirk’s father dies due to Romulan interference), and c) have a completely new cast.  It’s not as if each and every series and at least three movies dealt with the hazards of screwing with time(lines) / alternate universes.  Nope….never happened….oh wait!!!!

  • STOS: The City on the Edge of Forever, guest starring a young Joan Collins; Mirror, Mirror  which introduced us to dark versions of the crew.

  • STNG: All Good Things  (series finale) — in fact almost any time Q showed up there was going to be trouble with timelines.

  • DS9: The dark universe visited during many episodes which some have stated is the same universe that Kirk and Spock were trapped in.

  • VOY: the various episodes that involved the FSS Relativity and resulted in the Doctor acquiring his mobile emitter. Fury  where Kes returns long enough to return to the past and attempt to alter her own fate and that of the crew; Endgame  which was the ultimate in time-bending drama for the whole crew.

  • Enterprise: Storm Front (2 parts)  where the crew “returns” to WWII Earth; In a Mirror, Darkly (2 parts)  where we are introduced to yet another “dark” version of the crew.

  • The Voyage Home  (4th OS movie), Generations, and First Contact : Three movies (of ten) that had their genesis in the complications of time travel.

Seriously.  Add to that, that’s it very obvious that the Federation (as we know and love it) does not even begin until the end of the second movie — when the reboot Enterprise accepts its first 5-year mission.  The reboots ask the question, “What would have happened if…..?” which is a time-honored vehicle for exploration in the sci-fi / fan genre.

Day 9: things that make you happy”

These things cause me happiness from a wistful smile to absolute joy — not necessarily in that order:

  • getting a top-of-head butterfly kiss from Hubbie even though we’re both bleary-just-woke-up eyed and haven’t finished our 1st java yet.

  • seeing Sunshine (my young nephew) light up whenever we get a chance to visit with him and his family.

  • the antics that Georgie and Mr. Bitey (our kit-lettes) get into or watching them cuddle together when they nap.

  • that cleansing, refreshing rain than sometimes happens early on a summer morning after weeks of sweltering heat and humidity.

  • my library and collections of odd boxes, dragons, and silver “things”.

  • the look of absolute trust that I see on Princess Bumblebee’s (my niece and Sunshine’s infant sister) face when Sunshine is holding her.

  • hearing Ma or Da’s voice when I call them.

  • successfully completing a project that I’ve invested much time an portions of my soul into.

  • hearing that a friend is doing well after being rather worried about hir.
